FaithKey (“FaithKey,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by Gilbert Schmidler.

FaithKey is designed with privacy in mind. We do not use advertising trackers, analytics trackers, or cross-app tracking technologies. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use information about you for targeted advertising.

This Privacy Policy explains what information may be processed when you use FaithKey, how that information is used, and the third-party services involved in operating the app.

1. Information FaithKey Does Not Collect

FaithKey does not require you to create an account.

Unless you voluntarily contact us for support, FaithKey does not directly collect: your name; your email address; your phone number; your physical address; your contacts; your precise or approximate location; your browsing history; your search history; your photos; your messages; advertising identifiers; information for targeted advertising; or data about your activity across other companies’ apps or websites.

FaithKey does not use your information for advertising or cross-app tracking.

2. Bible Reading and App Data

FaithKey may store information on your device in order to provide its features.

Depending on the features you use, this may include: Bible reading progress; verses or passages marked as read; daily reading progress; screen-time allowance earned through reading; current allowance or remaining time; FaithKey settings and preferences; selected app-blocking settings; and other information needed to remember the state of the app.

This information is used to provide FaithKey’s functionality. FaithKey does not transmit your Bible-reading history or reading activity to our own servers for analytics, advertising, profiling, or tracking.

Where this information is stored locally on your device, deleting FaithKey will generally delete that locally stored information, subject to any device backups or other functionality provided separately by Apple.

3. Screen Time and Family Controls

FaithKey uses Apple’s Screen Time technologies, including Apple’s Family Controls, Managed Settings, and related frameworks, to allow you to limit access to apps and earn additional access through Bible reading.

Apple’s Family Controls system is specifically designed to protect the privacy of app and website selections. Apple represents selections using privacy-preserving values rather than simply giving apps raw identifiers for the apps and websites that you choose.

FaithKey uses this access only to provide the screen-time and app-blocking functionality you request.

FaithKey does not use Screen Time information to advertise to you, create an advertising profile, track you across apps, sell information about your app usage, or determine your interests for marketing purposes. FaithKey does not upload your Screen Time activity to our own analytics database.

Your authorization to use Apple’s Screen Time features is controlled through Apple and iOS. If authorization is revoked, certain FaithKey blocking functionality may stop working.

4. Purchases and Subscriptions

FaithKey uses Apple’s App Store for purchases and RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, purchases, and entitlement status.

When you make or restore a purchase, information related to that transaction may be processed by Apple and RevenueCat.

RevenueCat may receive information including: your purchase history; Apple transaction or receipt information; subscription status; subscription expiration or renewal information; the time FaithKey was last seen by RevenueCat; device type; operating system information; and an App User ID used to associate purchases with a FaithKey installation.

RevenueCat states that its SDK can use an automatically generated anonymous App User ID when the developer does not provide an identified user account. FaithKey does not receive your full payment card information. Payments are processed through Apple’s App Store payment system.

We use RevenueCat information only for determining whether you have an active subscription, unlocking paid features, processing purchase restorations, recognizing lifetime purchases, managing subscription entitlements, troubleshooting purchase-related problems, and maintaining the proper operation of FaithKey’s paid features.

We do not use RevenueCat purchase information for targeted advertising or cross-app tracking. RevenueCat states that purchase history must be disclosed by apps using its service, while advertising identifiers are only relevant when the developer enables integrations that use such identifiers.

5. Anonymous Identifiers

RevenueCat may create an anonymous identifier associated with your installation of FaithKey so that it can determine whether your device has access to subscription or purchased features. This identifier is used for purchase and entitlement management.

FaithKey does not intentionally associate this anonymous RevenueCat identifier with your name, email address, advertising profile, or other personally identifying account information. We do not use this identifier to track your activity across unrelated apps or websites.

6. Tracking and Advertising

FaithKey does not contain third-party advertising, use your data for targeted advertising, or use the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) for advertising purposes.

FaithKey does not combine information from FaithKey with information from other companies for the purpose of advertising to you. FaithKey does not sell or rent your personal information.

As that term is used by Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework, FaithKey does not intentionally track users across apps or websites owned by other companies.

7. Analytics

FaithKey does not currently use third-party behavioral analytics services to monitor how individual users interact with the app. We do not use services such as advertising analytics to create profiles of users or monitor individual reading behavior.

Purchase and subscription events may be processed by RevenueCat as necessary to operate FaithKey’s paid features, as described above.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We do not share user data with advertisers or data brokers.

Information may be processed by third parties only where necessary to provide FaithKey’s functionality. At present, the primary third-party services relevant to FaithKey are Apple Inc. and RevenueCat, Inc.

We may also disclose information where required by applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental request.

9. Data Retention

Information stored only on your device remains there as needed for FaithKey to function and is generally removed when you delete the app, subject to Apple’s device backup and restoration systems.

Purchase and subscription information processed by Apple and RevenueCat may be retained by those services according to their respective policies and as necessary to maintain purchase records, subscription entitlements, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, and provide their services.

We do not maintain a separate database containing your Bible-reading history or Screen Time activity.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to minimize the amount of user information processed by FaithKey.

FaithKey has been designed so that sensitive activity such as Bible-reading progress and Screen Time configuration can remain on the user’s device rather than being collected for analytics or advertising purposes.

No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. However, we seek to collect and transmit only the information reasonably necessary to provide FaithKey’s functionality.

11. Your Privacy Choices

Because FaithKey does not require a user account and does not maintain a database of personal profiles, we may have little or no personally identifiable information about you.

You may revoke FaithKey’s Screen Time authorization through the controls provided by iOS; cancel or manage subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings; delete FaithKey from your device; and contact us regarding privacy questions or deletion requests relating to information that we control.

If you request deletion of information maintained through RevenueCat, we may need limited information necessary to locate the relevant anonymous purchase record, such as a RevenueCat App User ID or transaction information.

Where required by applicable law and where we can reasonably identify the relevant record, we will honor applicable rights concerning access, correction, deletion, or restriction of personal information.

12. Children’s Privacy

FaithKey is designed to minimize the collection of personal information and does not require users to provide names, email addresses, or other account information.

We do not knowingly use personal information from children for advertising, profiling, or tracking. If you believe that information from a child has been collected in a manner inconsistent with this Privacy Policy, contact us at the email address below.

13. International Users

Third-party service providers used by FaithKey, including RevenueCat and Apple, may process information in countries other than the country in which you live.

Where applicable, such processing is governed by the privacy, security, and data-protection practices of those service providers and applicable law.

14. Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.

Because FaithKey itself collects very limited information, we may not possess information capable of responding to a particular request.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to FaithKey, third-party services, legal requirements, or our privacy practices.

When we make changes, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this Privacy Policy.

Continued use of FaithKey after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes acknowledgment of the updated policy to the extent permitted by applicable law.
